CVE-2008-3075
CVE-2008-3076

Description:
Jan Minar has reported some vulnerabilities in Vim, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

The vulnerabilities are caused due to the "filetype.vim", "tar.vim", "zip.vim", "xpm.vim", "xpm2.vim", "gzip.vim", and "netrw.vim" scripts improperly escaping special characters contained within filenames passed to the "execute" statement. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary commands on an affected system by tricking the user into opening specially crafted files.

The vulnerabilities are reported in versions 6.4 and 7.1.298. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Update to version 7.2.
