CVE-2008-2929
CVE-2008-2930
CVE-2008-3283

Description:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in Red Hat Directory Server, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks, cause a DoS (Denial of Service), and potentially compromise a vulnerable system.

1) Multiple memory leaks can be exploited to potentially exhaust all available memory via specially crafted requests.

2) An error in the processing of LDAP search patterns can be exploited to trigger a high CPU usage via specially crafted LDAP requests.

3) A boundary error within multiple Red Hat Directory Server CGI applications when processing "Accept-Language" HTTP headers can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow and potentially execute arbitrary code with "root" privileges by sending a specially crafted request to a vulnerable system.

Successful exploitation requires that the attacker is able to connect to the administration server web interface.

4) Input containing the "%" character passed to the Directory Server Administration Express and Directory Server Gateway (DSGW) is not properly sanitised before being returned to the administrator. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in an administrator's browser session in context of an affected site.

Solution:
Update to Red Hat Directory Server 7.1, Service Pack 7.
