CVE-2008-5681
CVE-2008-5682
CVE-2008-5683

Description:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in Opera, which potentially can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks, disclose potentially sensitive information, and compromise a user's system.

1) A vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the processing of "file://" URIs. This can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow by e.g. redirecting the browser to an overly long "file://" URI.

Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code, but requires that the user is tricked into opening a malicious HTML file placed on the affected system.

2) An unspecified error exists when manipulating certain text-area contents, which can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow and may allow the execution of arbitrary code.

3) An unspecified error within the parsing of certain HTML constructs can be exploited to cause an unexpected DOM change. This can be exploited to cause a crash and may allow the execution of arbitrary code when combined with other techniques.

4) An error exists while blocking scripts during a news feed preview. This can be exploited to disclose the content of subscribed news feeds or to subscribe the user to an arbitrary news feed.

This may be related to vulnerability #3 in:
SA32299

5) Certain escaped input processed by the built-in XLST templates is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

6) An unspecified error can be exploited to disclose random data. No more information is currently available.

Note: Additionally, Opera now restricts embedded SVG images from executing Java or plugin content, which may prevent certain attacks.
